Privacy Policy

We collect minimal data, use it to run DevDarsha reliably, and do not sell personal data.

Version 1.2 - Effective 2026-05-22

Overview

DevDarsha operates daily Panchang pages and the DevDarsha API platform. We collect only the data needed to provide the service, secure it, respond to users, and improve reliability.

Data We Collect

  • Website usage: basic technical logs such as request time, page, IP address, user-agent, and error status.
  • Location choice: city selection and optional browser geolocation when you explicitly click "Use my location". The selected city name is stored in your browser's local storage (key devdarsha_city) to remember your preference; raw geolocation coordinates are used only client-side to pick the nearest city and are not stored on DevDarsha servers.
  • Contact data: name, email, and message content when you contact us.
  • API account data: account, billing, API key, and usage information for platform users.
  • Cookies and identifiers: cookies, local storage, IP address, browser details, device identifiers, and similar technologies used for security, preferences, analytics, and advertising where enabled.

How We Use Data

We use data to serve city-specific Panchang content, protect the website, answer support requests, manage API accounts, enforce quotas, and improve performance and accuracy.

Advertising and Google Services

Google AdSense and similar advertising services are not enabled on DevDarsha at this time, and no third-party advertising cookies are set by the site today. Google AdSense, Google Analytics, or similar services may be enabled in future. If and when they are enabled, Google and its partners may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses, device information, or other identifiers to serve ads, measure performance, prevent abuse, and personalize ads where permitted by law and consent settings, and this Privacy Policy and the Cookie Policy will be updated accordingly before such services go live.

For background, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services and Google's Ads Settings for opt-out controls. Cookie details and browser choices are available in our Cookie Policy.

Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell personal data. We share data only with service providers needed for hosting, payments, email/support, security, or where required by law.

Data Retention

  • Request and security logs are retained for approximately 30 to 90 days for security, abuse-prevention, and reliability purposes.
  • Contact form messages and related emails are retained for up to 24 months unless earlier deletion is requested.
  • API account and billing data are retained while the account is active, and afterwards for the period required by applicable tax and accounting law in India (typically up to 8 years for invoices and tax records).
  • Aggregated or anonymised analytics that cannot be linked to an individual may be retained indefinitely.

Children's Data

DevDarsha is not directed at users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children without verifiable parental consent as required under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023. If you believe a child has submitted personal data to DevDarsha, please contact [email protected] and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

International Data Transfers

Some service providers used by DevDarsha (for example, Google services, hosting, or CDN providers) may process data on servers located outside India. DevDarsha uses reputable providers and relies on standard contractual safeguards where applicable.
